Prairie Moon Garden & Museum

In 1958, Herman Rusch decided that the grounds of his museum needed improvement. He gathered rock and concrete to build a raised flower planter, a common home improvement project in the Midwest. But for Rusch, this was only the beginning of the Prairie Moon Garden. For the next 20 years, he built nearly 40 sculptures on the grounds of his museum of natural wonders.
